Our topic this month is Animals. The children will be participating in various activities over the month.
28th – Shrove Tuesday – children will be having pancakes for dessert after tea.
Due to the wet and cold winter weather, please could parents provide their child with warm named outdoor clothing including a hat and gloves, if you have got an all in one suit for your child this would be perfect for nursery as we do go outside every day.
Please can we remind parents that are session times are: 8am-1pm, 1pm-6pm and 8am-6pm. Due to staffing ratios, please can we make sure that your child is dropped off and picked up between these times. If you require additional hours or early starts, these need to be pre-booked to ensure we maintain the correct ratios. Any late pick ups may result in a late pick up charge.
We would like to congratulate Jade Loverseed on her promotion to Senior Nursery Nurse.
World Book Day
This year World Book Day is on Thursday 2nd March 2017. From Monday 27th February until Friday 3rd March we will be celebrating World Book Day through activities and stories.
Please feel free to bring your child into nursery as their favourite characters if they would like to. If anyone would like to bring in a book from home, we would love to share and read them throughout the day.
It’s that time of year again where we have started to collect the Sainsbury’s active kids vouchers. Please put any vouchers in the collection box in the entrance hall. Thank you for your continued support.
Babies and First Steps
We will be doing animal handprints and footprints to link in with our topic of the month.
We will also be having lots of messy play linked with the topic: hay with farm animals, ice and flour with polar animals.
Please can we ask parents to bring in family pictures for our new display or email them to: email@example.com
The colour of the month is going to be pink.
Our story of the month is going to be ‘Hooray! says Peppa’. This is the children’s interest and they often sit looking at Peppa books.
We would like to ask parents if they would please bring in family pictures so we can do a family board.
We are looking at our handovers at the end of the day and would like your feedback as to whether we continue with verbal feedback after the trial or if you would prefer us to go back to our daily books.
Recently we have been changing our role play area to tie in with different events. We have explored a bakery and have recently had a Chinese restaurant. Throughout February we will be making a ‘vets’ to tie in with our monthly topic which is ‘animals’.
Please can we ask parents to bring in family pictures for our family tree or email them to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We have improved our drinks station and are asking parents to bring in a labelled drinks bottle which the children can then access throughout the day in nursery.
In February we will be focusing on our topic of the month which is animals. We will be making a farm shop in our role play area.
We will be carrying on with our phonics time and over the next few weeks we will be learning the letters ‘a’ and ‘t’.
To ease the transition into school, we are encouraging children to start to leave their toys at home or in the car before coming into nursery.
Can I remind parents to bring in family photos and pe kits. Also if your child has any art work in their folder on the wall, please feel free to take it home.
