Colder Weather

As the weather is becoming colder, please could you bring your child in with named wellingtons, hats, gloves and scarves as we will still be spending time outside during the day.

It Pays to Have a Friend

As many of our new children have found out about Acorn Nursery through a recommendation, we have decided to extend the It Pays to Have a Friend offer to be a continuous scheme. If you recommend a friend which results in their child taking up a place at nursery, you will receive a credit for the value of one week of the recommended child’s sessions. This could be worth up to the value of £220. You can make as many recommendations as you wish! For more information please speak to a member of staff in the office.

Babies and First Steps

We would like to welcome Thomas to the First Steps family. In January we are going to make some mobiles to hang from our ceiling, we are going to base them on numbers 1,2,3 and our favourite animals. We will also be creating a new display, using lots of different textures and materials that the babies will be able to explore before creating their picture. The weather man has said that it might snow this month so if it does we will be playing with the artic animals in the snow and building a snowman. During week commencing 18th, we will be looking at different religions, so we would be grateful for any help/input from parents about your religious beliefs. During week commencing 25th, is ‘National Writing Day’, we will be making marks in different textures such as shaving foam, wet sand and paint.

We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and that Father Christmas brought you all exciting presents. We would like to say goodbye to Tallulah who has moved into big room and hope she has lots of fun. This month we are concentrating on nursery rhymes and will be singing them and creating a display of our favourite ones. The shape of the month is square and we will be finding lots of squares around the room and outside area. Please could you provide some photos for our family photo board, these can be emailed to the office if preferred. Even though the weather is wet and cold, we will still be going outside to explore and play. Please could you provide named outdoor clothes, spare clothes and wellingtons.
