Babies and First Steps

We are going to be doing lots of art work for our new displays-five little ducks and a winter display.

We will have water play with rubber ducks and ice cube play to link to those topics.

Our colour of the month is blue.

The story of the month is going to be ‘Daisy goes shopping’. We will be doing crafts and activities based around this story.

The colour of the month is purple.

We will be doing activities based around our winter topic, these will include: ice play, snowflakes and talking about the cold.

Could we also please ask if you could start to put names in your child’s clothes as we are now getting busier in the room. Thank you.

Big Room

Following on from December and the ‘winter’ theme, we will be doing lots of activities to do with the cold weather such as ice play, pretend snow and activities outside. Please can I remind parents to bring in warm clothing and wellies so we can still go outside.

We have recently altered our drinks station as the current procedure wasn’t working too well. We would like to ask parents if they could provide a water bottle which can be identified by your child as their own.

In our cosy area we have a family board. If you have any spare family pictures that we can have to go on. This will encourage the children to talk about their families and home. Please could you email them to admin@acorndaycare.co.uk. Thankyou.

Throughout January we will be looking at still drawing, we are going to be painting pictures of fruit and flowers.

We will also be looking at the weather outside and different ways to explore it, for example outdoor walks.

We will be continuing to do our P.E sessions, so please could you bring in some named spare clothes so that the children can get changed.
