Facebook account

As some parents may be aware, we have recently set up a Facebook account. With this we will add updates to nursery as well as exciting activities the children participate in. If you are not already a friend please feel free to add us! Also if you would like to leave any comments on what we do well, please do so.

Sainsbury’s Vouchers

We are hoping to send our Sainsbury’s vouchers off in the next few weeks, if you have any Sainsbury’s vouchers still at home, please could you pop them in the box in the entrance hall. Thanks.

Warmer weather

As we approach summer and the warmer weather please could you provide your child with a named sun hat and also sun cream if your child does not have nursery cream. Thank you

Babies and First Steps

We would like to say goodbye to Rufus and Della as they move up into the Toddler room. Our topic of the moth is mini beasts and we will be doing lots of activities and exploring during this topic. Could we please ask parents to bring in family photos for our display. We will also be making some special gifts for Father’s day this month.

This month we shall be singing ‘Our favourite nursery rhyme’. We shall be doing lots of activities based around this. Please let us know your child’s favourite song. Our shape of the month will be circle. We shall be looking for circles in the environment. Our topic of the month will be mini beasts, so we shall be doing a lot of digging in the garden trying to find some interesting insects.

Big Room

Throughout June, we will be looking at different life cycles. We have recently just done ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ story and display. The children understood how the caterpillar turned into a butterfly. We will be getting two fish for our room, where the children will be able to take turns feeding/caring for the fish. We will be looking at how we grow as well as animals. The children have all been very busy starting our Father’s Day crafts. We will be finishing those off so they are ready for their Daddy’s/Grandad’s.

During the month of June, we will be focusing on ‘mini beasts’. The children will be going on bug hunts, creating artwork for new displays, making our own wormery and helping to look after animal habitats in the environment. As the school leavers graduation is fast approaching, the school leavers will be practicing their favourite songs that they would like to sing for the graduation. June is the start of the Muslim Holiday Ramadan; the children will be learning all about Ramadan, the beliefs and culture of Muslims and will also have the opportunity to taste foods from their culture.
